HOW IT WORKS

How the Grade Checker Works

Built around the Cambridge 0580 (2025–2027) paper structure and recent grade boundaries.

1. Add Up Your Papers

Core students add Paper 1 (/80) and Paper 3 (/80) for a total out of 160. Extended students add Paper 2 (/100) and Paper 4 (/100) for a total out of 200.

2. Compare to Boundaries

Your combined mark is compared to the typical grade boundaries for each grade. The highest grade your mark reaches is your likely grade.

3. See the Gap

The checker shows how many marks separate you from the next grade up — often just a few marks per paper, which is very achievable with focused practice.

4. Indicative Only

Cambridge sets official boundaries after each session based on paper difficulty, so treat this as a guide rather than a guarantee.

Indicative Grade Boundaries — Cambridge IGCSE Maths 0580

Core is marked out of 160 (Paper 1 + Paper 3, 80 each); Extended out of 200 (Paper 2 + Paper 4, 100 each). Minimum combined marks typically needed for each grade:

Core (Papers 1 & 3) Min marks (of 160)
Grade C 100
Grade D 75
Grade E 58
Grade F 45
Grade G 35
Extended (Papers 2 & 4) Min marks (of 200)
Grade A* 170
Grade A 150
Grade B 125
Grade C 95
Grade D 70
Grade E 50

These grade boundaries are indicative only. Cambridge sets the official boundaries after each exam session based on how difficult that session's papers were, so they shift from one series to the next. Use this checker as a guide to roughly where a mark might land, not as a guarantee of a grade.
