From D to B: Siti's IGCSE Maths Journey at Tenby International Ipoh

Siti was one of Teacher Rig's most satisfying success stories — a student who was told by her school in Year 10 that she should consider dropping to Core tier, but whose parents were determined she would achieve more on Extended. She came to Teacher Rig at the start of Year 10 Term 2, scoring D on her first internal assessment. The diagnosis was clear: she had significant gaps in algebraic manipulation from lower secondary that were compounding as the IGCSE syllabus moved faster than she could keep up. Over fourteen months we addressed those foundational gaps systematically before building through the Extended syllabus topics. Siti's progress was steady but required patience — the middle six months were frustrating as she was building foundations rather than seeing immediate past paper improvement. But by Year 11 Term 1, the foundation work paid off: she began scoring Cs consistently on past papers, and by the final term was achieving Bs. Her Cambridge result of B was a tremendous personal achievement.
