From C to A: Priya's IGCSE Maths Journey at Taylor's International Subang

Taylor's International School · Subang Jaya · Extended tier · 12 months (Year 10 Term 3 through Year 11 exams)

Priya joined Teacher Rig's sessions in the second half of Year 10 after scoring a C on her mid-year assessment at Taylor's International. Her weakest areas were trigonometry and statistics — particularly the sine and cosine rules, cumulative frequency, and probability. Over twelve months we rebuilt these topics from scratch and integrated them with the algebra skills she already had. A particular focus was the Taylor's internal exam style, which closely mirrors Cambridge Paper 4. By the time she sat the actual Cambridge examination in May/June, Priya was scoring As consistently on past papers. Her final Cambridge grade was A — a two-grade improvement that opened up her choice of A-Level subjects and the college she had wanted.

"Priya came out of the exam smiling — something we had never seen before. Teacher Rig made her feel prepared and confident, not just better at maths."

— Parent of Priya

Questions About This Journey

What were Priya's weakest topics?

Trigonometry (particularly non-right-angled triangle problems using sine and cosine rules) and statistics (cumulative frequency and histogram interpretation). Both are high-mark areas in Paper 4.
