From D to B: Fatimah's IGCSE Maths Journey at Tenby International Kuantan

Fatimah was struggling in Year 10 at Tenby Kuantan, scoring D on her first round of internal assessments. Her parents sought specialist IGCSE Maths help but found the local tutoring market in Kuantan very limited for Cambridge-specific support. Teacher Rig's online sessions were the solution. Over thirteen months we worked systematically through the Extended syllabus, identifying that Fatimah's core issue was algebraic manipulation — she could follow worked examples but couldn't independently carry out the same steps without prompts. Targeted drills on factorising, completing the square, and manipulating algebraic fractions, combined with regular past paper practice, built the independent problem-solving skills she needed. By Year 11 Term 2, she was scoring consistent Cs on past papers. A strong final push on topics she found most accessible — statistics, number, and coordinate geometry — helped her maximise marks in the examination. She achieved B in May/June.
